MIT Bitcoin Expo
www.mitbitcoinexpo.org Held annually in the spring semester, the MIT Bitcoin Expo is one of the largest and most revered academic blockchain conferences in the world. In the past, the MIT Bitcoin Expo has been co-organized with HackMIT, MIT Society of Women Engineers, MIT Bitcoin Club, and the Blockchain Education Network.
MIT Bitcoin Hackathon
Held in the spring semester, the MIT Bitcoin Hackathon. Hackathon projects have gone on to receive funding and support from blockchain companies.
Henoch Argaw Memorial Fund
A memorial fund established in 2018 in memory of Henoch Argaw. The first prize was given at the 2018 MIT Bitcoin Expo.
BitComp was a summer-long competition for MIT undergrads, grad students, alumni, and their friends to develop innovative bitcoin-related apps. Teams of 1-5 participate in up to 3 rounds of competition to win over $15,000 in prizes.
SLACK: Summer of Bitcoin
The summer of 2014, MIT Bitcoin Club teamed up with StartLabs to provide an awesome environment where students were able to work on projects, learn new skills, and share ideas with each other.
MIT Bitcoin Project
In 2014, two MIT students (Jeremy Rubin and Dan Elitzer) raised half a million dollars to distribute $100 in bitcoin to every undergraduate at MIT.
